Jebat Must Die’s (JMD) low class blog post (below) on 4thJune was a desperate attempt to make the Second Finance Minister, Dato’ Seri Husni Hanadzlah, out to be a big liar but instead exposes JMD himself to be a poor one. Don’t be intimidated by the title of the articles given by JMD and OutSyed The Box (Syed) who also carried the article. Syed and JMD are the Dumb & Dumber duo to BN as what Tony Pua and Rafizi are to Pakatan.
Friends should already know me. I am not subservient to anybody in the corporate nor political sector. I write what I write for no monetary reward, whether in the form of cash, cash equivalent, bonds or units, be it in Malaysia, Singapore, Cayman Islands or the Middle East. If I’m in the mood I’ll write. If I don’t write about a noisy issue it doesn’t mean I don’t have a stand but that I either don’t have the time or I’m too lazy.
I wasn’t very kind to 1MDB CEO Arul and the Minister recently but now I should defend Husni against JMD’s false accusations. Since I find JMD and Syed obnoxious (I think even worse than me), I’ll derive some pleasure defending Husni against their fitnah. Whether I like or dislike Husni or think he is competent or incompetent is of no concern. Benar tetap benar, salah tetap salah.
This is JMD’s putar belit posting on his blog, titled: Husni Hanadzlah and the misrepresentation of 1MDB facts
Outsyed The Box carried JMD’s article and added his own title: Husni Hanadzlah Commits Suicide
Dramatic or what.
If you were to click on the hyperlinks (for references) in JMD’s post most of them lead to articles published by The Malaysian Insider, MalaysiaKini, Free Malaysia Today, Malay Mail Online and, for the most “unbiased, independent and objective” sources, also JMD’s own blog and tweets. I’m just surprised this wannabe pseudo-opposition didn’t link anything to Lim Kit Siang’s blog.
Okay, let’s get to the bottom of JMD’s allegations that Husni lied in the TV interview.
JMD doesn’t waste time lying about Husni before he even started listing down Husni’s alleged lies:
“Even when it come to Jho Low, Husni only said that he does not want the former to be glamourous.”
Those of you who watched the video recording of Husni’s interview will know straight away that JMD has lied through his teeth. That was certainly not the ONLY thing Husni answered on Jho Low. Have a look and listen at this segment of the video: watch from 35:00 to 37:45 where Husni starts more or less like what JMD said, proceeds to explain in detail and finally concludes “… jadi tidak timbul soal Jho Low”.
JMD’s attention span may have only lasted 10 seconds but Husni’s explanation actually went on for almost 3 minutes.
So, JMD lied.
Now let’s go into the rest of the alleged lies where our hero Jebat “exposes LIE after LIE”. Kononnya lah.
Alleged LIE number 1:
JMD said, “When the host pressured the minister about Sarawak Report’s expose on Good Star Ltd (Jho Low’s company) receiving USD700 million, Husni claimed that Petro Saudi had lodged a police report in London saying what the portal had published was not true. This is a lie.”
Let’s see who’s lying then. Since he relies a lot on opposition media for information then let’s take an article from TMI:
What does the TMI article say? Well, well…
“PetroSaudi International (PSI), the oil company allegedly used as a front to siphon off money from 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB), today refuted accusations of wrongdoing in its former joint-venture with the government-owned strategic development company.”
“A PSI statement said the company was considering legal action over reports and “online criticisms” of its past deal with 1MDB, saying they were “simply false”.
“According to news reports, PetroSaudi Investments Limited has lodged a report over Sarawak Report’s article with London’s Police Action Fraud Unit at the National Fraud and Cyber Crime Reporting Centre in the UK.”
Therefore Husni told the truth and did not lie while JMD told a blatant lie.
Oh hang on…JMD accuses Husni of yet another lie. I think he should have split “LIE number1” into LIE number 1(a) and LIE number 1(b) but never mind that.
JMD says: “Husni lied to deflect the allegation of USD700 million of 1MDB’s money being siphoned out to Jho Low. With this lie, we can almost say that the transaction was indeed true. But what Husni could only say was: ‘We got back our initial investment of US$1 billion and returns from the joint venture. So there is no issue of Jho Low in this.’ Well, that is of course how siphoning money works. You cover the tracks by saying no money is lost.”
This actually doesn’t make much sense. JMD is saying that Husni lied about PetroSaudi making the police report so as to deflect the allegation and based on this “lie” JMD is concluding that US$700 million was therefore siphoned out. JMD is basically creating a lie based on a preceding lie. First of all, even if Husni did lie about the police report, it would be ridiculous to take that as proof that US$700 million was stolen — it’s a logical fallacy. Secondly, since it has already been proven by virtue of the TMI article that Husni in fact did tell the truth and did not lie about the police report, it means JMD’s conclusion is false.
So, JMD lied again.
Anyway, incredibly JMD is standing by the false allegation that Jho Low siphoned out US$700 million from 1MDB. JMD is saying that the people believe the US$700 million was not siphoned out is because the Minister said no money was lost. Hello Jebat, the fact is people don’t believe the false allegation because the numbers add up, not because the Minister says so. I had already explained in my previous post:
“4. Aset BSI tiada nilai?
“5. Jho Lo curi US$700 juta dari 1MDB?
You don’t have to accept my logic. Listen to the Minister himself explaining in detail from 35:00 to 37:45 in the video.
So JMD is either hopeless at arithmetic, a ‘bangang’ (Well, it’s either him or the 5 international banks collectively), a liar or a combination of any or all of these. If/when 1MDB sues him for defamation and slander I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t end up a bankrupt unless he is well paid by ahem ahem cough cough.
Anyway, amusingly, you will see that JMD contradicts himself later. Maybe it’s to protect himself so that if 1MDB sues him he will show that part that implies he did not mean that any money was missing, stolen or siphoned out. Mungkin cerdik jugak mamat ni.
JMD also still insists (without any shred of evidence) that Good Star Ltd belongs to Jho Low. (GoodStar is the company to whom the US$700 million initial loan was repaid to). That’s probably because he didn’t bother listening to the rest of the 35:00 to 37:45 segment of the video. Or maybe he did but he’s paid too well. Of course that still doesn’t change the fact that 1MDB got back all of its investment plus profit, even if JMD turns blue in the face trying to convince us that Good Star is owned by Jho Low. Well, no matter what JMD is smoking, the fact is Good Star belongs to the Arabs and not owned by Jho Low.
Good Lord, so JMD LIED again.
Although JMD tries to lie convincingly to make it appear that Husni wanted to hide dealings with Jho Low, the video recording proves otherwise. You would also see that Husni took the questions very well and did not do what JMD will be doing when he reads this…. squirming and blushing like a little girl for being exposed as a liar.
I did try giving JMD the benefit of the doubt (sangka baik kan) that he did not mean to allege fraud in 1MDB and accuse Husni of being a liar but then he goes on to say:
“Well, that is of course how siphoning money works. You cover the tracks by saying no money is lost.”
So yes, well, of course JMD lied.
Alleged LIE number 2:
JMD said, “When asked why did 1MDB changed auditors, Husni said that they chose Deloitte because auditors have to be rotated and it was time for KPMG to be changed after 3 years being an auditor. This is a lie.”
This allegation that Husni lied actually makes JMD out to be such a sad case that even ahem ahem cough cough might squirm. After 1MDB having been accused of not providing answers for money missing starting with RM42 billion, then RM27 billion, then RM17 billion — sorry if I’m losing track of the moving goalposts – he conveniently ignores that biggest concern of the Rakyat and instead tries to pin down Husni on why the auditors were changed. Errr…. hello… the RM42 billion…. Don’t you want to know where it all is? You know, the reason you want Najib to step down as PM and make fun of his wife? Don’t you know the pains people took to prepare those schedules and explain the numbers in the media, Facebook and on television? Oh I see, you don’t care about the billions of dollars, you just want people to freak out with you for not understanding why the auditors were changed.
I don’t know about JMD but I’ve worked in a company that has changed auditors before and indeed companies are encouraged to change auditors every 3 years. Husni never said 1MDB was compelled to change auditors but that they felt it would be good to follow the international standard of every 3 years. It is not uncommon to for companies to have such a rotation policy.
Therefore Husni told the truth and did not lie while JMD forgot what question he had previously asked.
Alleged LIE number 3:
JMD said, “Husni had said that due to 1MDB’s joint venture with PetroSaudi, Prasarana was able to operate the Arafah – Mina Metro System in Mecca in May 2015. This is absolutely not true.”
JMD then tries to impress his readers with hyperlinks to a Star news report and PetroSaudi’s announcement, which doesn’t mean much because he was merely trying to prove that 1MDB’s name was not mentioned.
It seems JMD likes to take things literally and in the absolute if it fits with his thinking ala zombie. Nobody of average intelligence would claim that 1MDB had any legal or partnership role in the project. What Husni was referring to was in the context of bilateral relations with Saudi, whereby one Malaysian company invests in a Saudi venture and in return Saudi awards a contract/project to another Malaysian company. Even the TV host interjected to say “Itu imbalan dari pelaburan PetroSaudi” (i.e. Kerajaan Saudi membalas jasa). Perhaps another time 1MDB will be awarded an overseas IPP project in reciprocation for another Malaysian company awarding a construction contract to a company from that same country. That’s why the Prime Minister needs to travel around a lot with the government jet (oops… sensitive) to meet world leaders. I hope we don’t have people like JMD in Foreign Affairs.
Therefore Husni told the truth and did not lie while JMD wasn’t there.
Alleged LIE number 4:
JMD said: “Husni repeatedly saying that all the monies from the joint venture with the Arab business partners have borne profits and have returned home (pelaburan semua kita bawa balik). This is a lie.”
Wahhhh….this one JMD really spin… It shows how desperate he is to accuse Husni of being a liar.
Again, watch the video for yourself from 37:15. Husni was explaining about how billions could not go missing and he put the question, “Jadi di sini yang penting bagi kita, adakah pelaburan kita sebanyak $1 billion kita dapat bawak balik atau tidak?” and further he goes on to say, “Pelaburan kita dapat balik dengan pulangan”. This is worse than the kangkong spin.
Therefore Husni told the truth and did not lie while JMD’s spin is giving me a headache.
Again, notice that JMD totally avoids the mystery of the missing billions. He no longer seems interested in whether billions are unaccounted for. He instead gets himself excited with words of no consequence innocently uttered by Husni.
Then JMD unexpectedly drops this bombshell:
“The fact is, the monies from those investments have never returned home. All of it was parked in Cayman Islands and just like Husni said in the show, ALL of those redeemed money were used topay the loans…. the loan lenders and bankers got everything, with interests. So what is so good about 1MDB?”
Wait a minute, didn’t JMD say earlier that US$700 million had be siphoned out? Now he’s telling us ALL of those redeemed money were used to pay the loans? JMD even stated ‘ALL’ in capital letters in case anyone doubts he meant 100% so don’t accuse me of spinning. JMD in his overzealousness trying to accuse Husni of lying has instead unwittingly contradicted himself BIG time. If JMD himself says “ALL those redeemed money were used to pay the loans” then how could US$700 million have been siphoned out? Do the math. It would be impossible. Mustahil. (Which is what I have always been rationalising). There is only one explanation I can think of for JMD shooting himself in the head: Tuhan nak tunjuk.
Therefore Husni told the truth and did not lie while JMD has contradicted himself BIG time and lied one way or the other.
Okay, now for the last alleged lie…
Alleged LIE number 5:
JMD said,“At the start of the show, Husni mentioned that the RM27 billion debts are not missing, because if they were, the government and banks will be very alarmed (they might not get the loan repayments) and this could lead to credit risks. This is a lie. The banks did become nervous.”
I am actually quite astonished at JMD’s effort to prove that banks did become nervous so that it will “prove” that Husni lied. You know what, I think I’ll give him this. Let’s just agree lah that the banks did become nervous. Lagipun I don’t believe that Jebat must die so kita bagi lah muka sikit in case he feels the only way out is to ‘commit suicide’. I mean, after all, if we think about it, who wouldn’t be nervous when more than half thecountry is in mass hysteria over 1MDB? That notwithstanding, Husni was correct that banks did not get ‘very alarmed’ (although those were not Husni’s exact words) to the extent they would recall the loans because the banks knew that no billions were missing or stolen. If the fraud allegations were true the banks would not have hesitated to declare a default and everybody would be taking all their money out of Tabung Haji (which reminds me that I need to put more money in my TH account for the good returns).
Therefore Husni told the truth and did not lie while Jebat is very nervous and wants to die.
I just want to borrow Syed’s words to describe JMD: Dia sendiri tak faham apa dia cakap.
I think Syed is slightly the more intelligent of their Dumb & Dumber partnership but even he failed to notice that (to again borrow Dumb’s words) JMD ‘bungled so many times’ that he would ‘get slaughtered for all the crap he mentioned’.
