KUALA LUMPUR: Amid the doom and gloom of thousands of job cuts by ailing national carrier Malaysia Airlines (MAS), two Malaysian companies have stepped up to do their bit by offering jobs to those who are about to lose theirs.
Posting separate heartfelt advertisements on their social media pages, mobile taxi app developer MyTeksi and restaurateur Awesome Canteen stated their willingness to help “weather” together the tough times facing the outgoing MAS staff by offering them positions in their respective businesses.
MyTeksi, which manages a popular taxi service app by the same name, published a post that said “Times are A-Changing: Join Us As We Weather It Together”, with a poignant graphic showing a hand reaching out to another dressed in MAS’ signature green and blue batik prints.
“Dear friends at Malaysia Airlines, during this period of uncertainty, MyTeksi would like to help out a fellow Malaysian-born brand.
“As a small gesture, we would like to invite you to join our ever expanding family. We are hiring across the board for sales, customer service, marketing and logistic roles,” was the comment that accompanied the poster.
